What made you choose a healthcare career?
At my core, my personal mission is to help others. I started my career on the fringes of healthcare and over the years, routed into healthcare centric roles. Luckily, my skillset was able to develop and become an asset to clinics. It continues to be a rewarding experience connecting my personal mission with work that impacts the local community.

What do you find most rewarding about working in a Community Health Center setting?
Seeing how our network and integrated care model can help improve the lives of our community members. As the line goes, “you don’t know, what you don’t know”. Our work helps empower patients in need of resources and we can bring those resources to their attention. Seeing patients get connected and start to live a healthier life is as rewarding as it gets.

What is your leadership/management philosophy?
At Pillar Health we believe in a measurable and consistent approach to care. We are modeling ourselves after Servant Leadership and make sure we are here to serve others rather than leading to take control. As we instill Servant Leadership qualities in our team members, our site leadership proactively models the Servant Leadership behavior every day. We are here to support our team members with the end goal of providing the best patient experience and outcome.

What can patients look forward to when they visit your clinic site?
Pillar Health is an integrated healthcare facility where patients can expect the highest level of care while experiencing a well-coordinated and timely visit. Our patients walk away knowing that their provider team has taken their general medical, dental and behavioral health needs into consideration when helping the patient with their global health and well-being plans. When our patients come to Pillar Health, they know our providers will understand their health needs and be equipped with the tools to help them be successful.
